If you don't smoke, don't start.

if you smoke, quit.

if you don't quit, change.

If you don't smoke, don't start.

if you smoke, quit.

if you don't quit, change.

TOGETHER, WE CAN #UNSMOKECANADA

Unsmoke marks 5 years of transformative change!

Leading the charge to ensure Canadians know about, and have access to, potentially less harmful alternatives, we’ve hit a milestone anniversary!

"If you don't smoke, don't start; if you smoke, quit; if you don't quit, change."

The initiative reflects our commitment to fostering conversations and spreading information about potentially less harmful alternatives for adults who might otherwise continue to smoke.

“There are a lot of misconceptions and areas for positive change. For example, current legislation treats all tobacco and nicotine products basically the same. Cigarettes burn tobacco and create smoke, which contains high levels of harmful or potentially harmful chemicals – the primary cause of smoking-related disease. Alternative products, such as heated tobacco and vaping products, eliminate the burning of tobacco and smoke.”

- Milena Trentadue, Managing Director, Rothmans, Benson & Hedges

As part of the 5th-anniversary celebration, there is a renewed call to action!

Join us in advocating for change, dispelling misconceptions, and working towards policies that reflect the transformative possibilities of smoke-free alternatives.

SMOKING IS ADDICTIVE AND CAUSES SERIOUS SMOKING-RELATED DISEASES

We all know this. However, according to Statistics Canada, nearly 5 million Canadians still smoke.

It’s time to bring that number down.

It’s time to help each other.

It's time to #UnsmokeCanada.

CURRENT REGULATIONS

A smoke-free future is a shared responsibility.  More action needs to be taken for Health Canada to reach its tobacco reduction target.  Governments should help adult smokers by openly recognizing the harm reduction potential of smoke-free products and modernizing Canadian legislation.

CURRENT ALTERNATIVES

THE BEST CHOICE ANY SMOKER CAN MAKE FOR THEMSELVES AND THEIR LOVED ONES, IS TO QUIT ALL FORMS OF TOBACCO AND NICOTINE ALTOGETHER.

But what about people who choose to continue to smoke? Innovation and technology can help current adult smokers switch from cigarettes to smoke-free alternatives such as vaping or heated tobacco products, if they choose not to quit altogether.
